Package from Dado!!

We were so excited to see that little Grace got a package from her G-Dado and G-Papa! (Great Grandma and Great Grandpa) We were going to open it right when we got it...but the darn battery was dead! So alas, we finally opened it right before bath/bedtime!

The first and second things were hard...so I opened part of them and then she went to town! What did she get? TWO books with CDS! One with Nursery Rhymes, and one with Bedtime Songs!! Thank you so much! What a wonderful gift!

The third gift? I saved this one for last...A BUNNY! He was so soft and had to different textured spots that she kept sitting and rubbing him on her face. It was so engaging for her to feel the textures. It was hard to pull him away because of that.

It was REALLY hard to get him away for the picture above...she just wanted to keep rubbing his ears on her cheeks!

I told her to show me her teeth because that was the only way she would look at me!
She was patting the bunny's bottom while rocking side to side. My little mama!
KISSES!! MUAH!
And a hug :)

We also got a little bunny (our fourth gift(s)) to hang on the wall or door, and fish crackers and cheerios. I am a mommy that regulates candy intake (barely ANY intake!) so our family all knows just healthy treats.

The fifth gift? A duckie washrag! HOW CUTE because her bathroom is duck themed! We used it right after opening everything, and she did so well putting it on her hand and rubbing it on her!

Thank you SO much Dado and Papa for the wonderful Easter presents! We will display our cute cards on the mantle!

Update

I'm so excited because I just met with someone on Grace's team that helps with hearing and got so much information from her! Makes me feel good to hear everything she'd said.

So I'm going to stop with such structured lessons because I keep looking at Grace as a 2.5 yr old, instead of 1.5 yrs which is where she is developmentally.

I'm going to check out what she should be doing at 1.5 yrs, see what she can/can't do, and VERY loosely work on the things she can't do :)

Happy days. Speech therapy in 45 minutes!

St. Pattys/Daddy's Birthday

I've continued with my decorations for Daddy's birthday! I'm blogging while I wait for my glue gun to warm so I can finish one of my shamrock lanyards, and then since I have the glue gun on Ill glue plastic eggs together (their halves) and then string them on fishing line for Easter decor!!

What's next?

Smaller shamrocks cut out of green card stock for our Shamrock Scavenger Hunt!!!

What else? I got green balloons, and gifts as well...I will be pulling out some cash tomorrow...the balloons will be filled with little slips of paper...such as:

YOU WIN A BAG OF CANDY!!
YOU WIN A BOTTLE OF SODA!
The fun ones will be the balloons that are popped and $$ flies out!! AH!

This will be for the two big kids...The leprechaun sent me an email and said he'd be visiting Grace and leaving a special gift!

That's all for now...I'll bet my gun is nice and warm!

New Speech Therapy!

Grace and Daddy went to speech therapy for the first time today with a new therapist named Jeff. Daddy said the place looked AWESOME, so we will probably be switching ALL your therapies over to that building! I can't wait to take pictures. Therapies will be Monday and Thursday at 2:45. So Mommy will get to go on the Thursday ones!

Later in the day Mommy, Grace and Sissy went shopping. Sissy held out a horse and said, "what's this?" and nonchalantly Grace said, "Horse!" Sissy and Mommy were both like...WHAT?!!! Are you serious I just heard her say that?!

CRAZY!

Good day today...super busy.

Love you bug.

New Dog

We found a new dog. Well, he found Grace and I. While we were out on a walk in the beautiful sun, he came and played. He kept going away and coming back, ended up following us up and he was so wet I felt bad, so he came in for a bath. He totally clings to me, and sits, shakes, and is SUPER gentle with Grace.

Grace had the ball between her feet while she was standing and the dog raced over and stuck his face between her feet. This caused Grace to fall forward onto the dog, and he froze! He slowly raised his head and then stopped, which gave Grace enough support to stand up, and then he backed away slowly with his head down. What a sweetie. He must have kids wherever his family is. We'll call the pound and let them know we have him, but hope they will let him stay here since the pound is never fun.

Here he is :) His name is Elmo...Grace picked it. I said, "what should we name him Grace?" And she screamed..."EHBO!!!"

Great name little miss!

Change of Plans

I think we're going to update on tot school on a weekly basis rather than daily. It's going to be too much with everything else we have going on, and there are days, like today, where it just didn't get done!! I can't wait till the end of the semester so we can really do the schooling throughout the entire day instead of just the morning :)

Tot School Day 2

Darn it, Grace is sick...Runny nose and yucky Cough. But to no avail, we still did Tot School! We had gotten a kit from the library, and so we worked from that today!

What we did:

Read some Easter books...I know it's super early but it comes with a binder, and so I'm copying a bunch of the pages in it to have it ready for Easter :)
We read some books.
We did some felt board stories and rhymes.
Grace is saying "OH?!" while acting sad because the puppy dog on the piece in her hand looks sad.
Matching the pieces to the right chick...well, mommy did!

We sang songs from the song box and she actually did some hand movements!!! The pictures below show off our song box, and each song will have pieces that she can hold and manipulate...someday!

An example of the cards Grace's picks out.

Then we did a "Brown Bear Brown Bear" poem. With each animal, we signed the color and the animal sign :)
Grace is signing cat! It's like pulling whiskers from your face...and she's sick that's why she looks so blah today.

Then we put together an Apple puzzle!
With a lot of Mommy's help, but that's ok!
Then we are signing apple!
Next we worked on velco flower lap-books! Grace likes putting the pieces wherever, and doesn't really get the concept of the velcro, but that's ok :)
This is the Brown Bear envelope. This is how everything is pretty much stored in my schoolwork holder.
All the activities for that topic are in individual bags so they don't get messed up.
And this is what it is kept in...
It's SO FULL that I have to sit on it for the latch to catch!
Grace is looking at me like..."you're letting me touch?" because she's not supposed to!
And at the end we took a silly picture :) But Grace didn't feel to well so she wasn't smiley.

Fun stuff!
Tomorrow, not as many pictures! I just wanted to get all the explaining out about the song box and my school supply container.
