Grace's Thursday Therapy

Grace did pretty good today. She didn't walk with the walker, and I was super bummed about it. I didn't ask for her to walk in it, the therapist didn't offer, so it just went unsaid. Darn.

So we started off on the treadmill today. Grace was super excited about getting on it, and didn't fuss at all this time. She walked for 16 1/2 minutes this time, which was 2 minutes more than yesterday. After that, she was actually so upset she was done that she burst out crying and arching!!! I couldn't believe it! Elaina (the therapist) sat her up and calmed her down and said, "we are all done" and Grace shook her head no! And then did it again!! HA HA HA HA!! Silly girl! Then she pointed at the treadmill and Elaina said, "no, we'll do that again next week." And she started fussing, so mommy had to step in. All it took was a "no, Grace. We will do that next week. Stop." And she was over it :) Good girl.

After that they worked on standing on Elaina's legs and weight shifting. She did so great! They did that for about 5 minutes, and Elaina's hands were just on Grace's waist, so I was so happy! Elaina was rocking left and right pretty well too. But Grace started fussing, so we quickly moved on to the next thing.

We worked on Grace standing at a high bench. It was about at our chests when we were sitting on our bum, so it was about her chest when she was standing. She didn't like this much at all, nothing new though. So we got the DVD player for her since it's portable. That was making it a bit easier though. By this point though, we had about 10 minutes left of our session, and Grace hadn't napped, so she was getting REALLY fussy. Her fussy arching, crying, hands covering face. But that's ok :) She did so well. So Elaina had her just walk over to me, and we were done for the day. I got Grace's notes (we get one after every therapy session), and then by the time she was locked in the truck, she was asleep. Hard workin' girly.

They also worked on sitting for a while :) She did pretty good, but got tired pretty fast and was fussy as all get out :)

We got to keep her no-no's for her legs for this next week. I'm gonna use them as much as she will let me so she'll see that she can stand up straight. Hope they will help.
